In celebration of its 40th anniversary, The Methodist Agogic Centre affectionately known as the MAC invited the founding visionary Reverend John A. Gumbs to a commemorating service on Sunday March 13th at the Philipsburg Methodist Church.

Statements such as cradle to the grave, Christian foundation and principles, Christian values, responsibility of parents and teachers, discipline, and molding of minds, echoed during the service. These statement resounded especially in the mind of Independent Member of Parliament Leona Marlin-Romeo who is an Alumni of the MAC.

The Methodist Agogic Centre has been fundamental in nurturing and educating children from both Dutch and French Sint Maarten, producing good fruit for this community, stated the Member of Parliament. The seed planted by Reverend John A. Gumbs has surely been evolving though not completed, his vision continues to manifest itself.

Many of the MAC alumni can be seen teaching at the institution and holding prominent positions throughout the world. Member of Parliament Leona Marlin Romeo stated that it was an honor to finally meet the honorable reverend since leaving the MAC and will be participating in the various activities planned throughout the school year.
